DESCRIPTION:
If you've been following along on social media, you know all about how Moby Dick came to be! This giant bowl has always been my white whale, as bowls this big have a very high fail rate in the making process. Moby Dick is absolutely MASSIVE... A truly remarkable serving bowl or discussion piece that will bring all sorts of colorful happy energy into your space.
This GIANT serving bowl is part of our 2024 Color Spectrum Series. We created this series with one goal in mind, use all the colors in the spectrum for every piece. This can be very challenging with the chemical reactions of glazes inside the kiln, but we couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome.
*This serving bowl is marked as a seconds because down near the base (see photos), there are small separations in the glaze where the coils slightly separated during firing. These have the appearance of small cracks, are almost completely out of view unless you lift the bowl up, and do not affect the functionality or strength of this bowl. These are not cracks at all. Just small separations where the clay didn't quite fuse to itself during creation. They are enough, though, that we marked this bowl down almost 50% from the price we'd usually sell it at.

Notes about purchasing items in this collection:
- TYPES OF CLAY:
- Stoneware (one of the strongest forms of pottery, literally becomes stone in the process)
- Porcelain (even stronger than stoneware, and costs more due to complexity of and cost of materials)
- Raku (due to the nature of raku, the clay doesn't get as strong as it does with stoneware or porcelain. Still plenty sturdy. - Size has much less to do with pricing in this collection than difficulty and complexity of creating the piece. I use different firing methods, glaze techniques, raw materials, clay type, stains, etc to get every finished pot, and all factors are applied when figuring out the final price.
- I do my best to accurately measure each piece, but it can be difficult to be exact with rounded objects so the measurements may vary slightly.
- Any pot labeled as a "seconds" in the product title means that it has one or more cosmetic shortcomings. This could include "s-cracks" on the bottom (where you won't see it), non-standard scuffs near the base, tiny chips, micro-surface cracks, etc. Every seconds pot is marked down 10-70% from what it normally would sell for.
- Any accessories/props, or other bowls from the collection shown in the photos, are not included.
- Always hand-wash handmade ceramics. Dishwashers are not your friend. This piece, if taken care of, should outlive us both. Always give it TLC.
SHIPPING:
We live/work in the USA, but you can order this pottery to be delivered just about anywhere in the world. Insurance is optional and can be added to your order.
Please note that it may take us 7-10 days to get your order ready to ship. This is a big collection and it's going to take us some time to organize it all and make sure everyone's orders are packaged securely and perfectly. Thanks for understanding!
Please also note that shipping and handling is extra. This is pottery and therefore needs to be protected. It takes some work, high quality materials, and time to properly package your pottery. All rates are factored in with real time pricing plus a materials/handling fee and will vary depending on where you live.

NOTE: I do my best to capture the true essence of all my pottery. Please note that every piece will look different depending on its surroundings and lighting, or on different screens. Please also note that on some listings, other pots or props have been included in the photograph, and unless explicitly mentioned in the description, the purchase is always for the product showing in the first product image.
All purchases are non-refundable. International orders may require duties and taxes, paid for by customer upon delivery. All my pottery is stoneware or porcealin, meaning it was fired at higher temperatures with more premium clay and glazes to make it truly durable. The only exception to this is Raku pottery which is fired at a lower temperature but still very strong. If you are buying any of my pottery as part of a collection or pottery drop, please note that it may take me 1-2 weeks to prepare the entire drop for shipment. Thank you for your patience.
