DESCRIPTION:

This pot is part of our "Great Small Pot" collection of 2024. Our goal is to create 500 different pots to be sold and shipped before the holidays.

Every single pot in this collection is totally unique with both its shape and its glaze. No two pots are ever the same. This adds to the time for each pot considerably, but brings us great joy in what we do here.

Our Manipulated Pots family are all wheel-thrown pots that we let dry ever-so-slightly before manipulating them. Pots that come off the wheel are perfect (or close to it) and we wanted to start this collection off on the right foot... "Imperfection" can be really beautiful, too. It's a message we like around these parts.

RAKU-FIRED:

This pot has been raku-fired. This is a special process where we glaze the pots, then fire them outside instead of in the electric kiln. Once the kiln reaches temperature (about 1900 degrees), we open it and expose the red-hot pottery with its molten glaze. We then move it into a reduction chamber filled with consumables (which instantly burst into flames). After that, we soak the hot pottery in cold water to really make the colors and metallics blast. Raku pottery is extremely time-intensive, requires extra materials, and has a high fail rate. For that reason, beautiful raku pottery tends to be on the more expensive side.

Notes about purchasing items in this collection:

  1. TYPES OF CLAY:
    - Stoneware (one of the strongest forms of pottery, literally becomes stone in the process)
    - Porcelain (even stronger than stoneware, and costs more due to complexity of and cost of materials)
    - Raku (due to the nature of raku, the clay doesn't get as strong as it does with stoneware or porcelain. Still plenty sturdy.
  2. SIZE:
    - All pots in this collection are labeled as x-small, small, medium-small, or medium (medium being the biggest size vase in this collection).
    1. Size has much less to do with pricing in this collection than difficulty and complexity of creating the piece. I use different firing methods, glaze techniques, raw materials, clay type, stains, etc to get every finished pot, and all factors are applied when figuring out the final price.
  3. I do my best to accurately measure each piece, but it can be difficult to be exact with rounded objects so the measurements may vary slightly.
  4. Any pot labeled as a "seconds" in the product title means that it has one or more cosmetic shortcomings. This could include "s-cracks" on the bottom (where you won't see it), non-standard scuffs near the base, tiny chips, micro-surface cracks, etc. Every seconds pot is marked down 10-70% from what it normally would sell for.
  5. Any accessories/props, or other bowls from the collection shown in the photos, are not included.
  6. Always hand-wash handmade ceramics. Dishwashers are not your friend. This piece, if taken care of, should outlive us both. Always give it TLC.

SHIPPING:

I live/work in the USA, but you can order this pottery to be delivered just about anywhere in the world. Insurance is included on every order.

Please note that it may take me 7-10 days to get your order ready to ship. This is a big collection and it's going to take us some time to organize it all and make sure everyone's orders are packaged securely and perfectly. Thanks for understanding!

Please also note that shipping and handling is extra. This is pottery and therefore is fragile. It takes some work, high quality materials, and time to properly package your pottery. All rates are factored in with real time pricing plus a materials/handling fee and will vary depending on where you live.

NOTE: I do my best to capture the true essence of all my pottery. Please note that every piece will look different depending on its surroundings and lighting, or on different screens.

All purchases are non-refundable. International orders may require duties and taxes, paid for by customer upon delivery. All my pottery is stoneware or porcealin, meaning it was fired at higher temperatures with more premium clay and glazes to make it truly durable. The only exception to this is Raku pottery which is fired at a lower temperature but still very strong. If you are buying any of my pottery as part of a collection or pottery drop, please note that it may take me 1-2 weeks to prepare the entire drop for shipment. Thank you for your patience.
